Talks of another Penguin Algorithm refresh has been going on since July 2015.

Two things we know about the update on the Penguin Algorithm so far. First, it is expected to happen before 2015 ends, without any definite or fixed dates of release. Google Webmaster Trends Analyst Gary Illyes confirmed this on a Twitter post.

Second, the new update will be a real-time version, which means the new Penguin penalty will take effect as soon as Google detects a bad quality link on any website. However, penalty recovery will also be quick as soon as bad links are removed or disavowed.

Cover All Your Client’s Bases

A regular link profile audit and clean up should prepare your clients’ websites for any Penguin Algorithm refresh. However, not everyone has the diligence nor the time to do so.

How would you know if the websites need a clean up?

If their link profile fall under any of the following scenarios:

  • Directory links, links  from spammy article sites, thousands of social bookmarks, spun content with anchor texts to your site, and links from irrelevant to your industry
  • Paid “dofollow” links are being targeted and penalized by Google
  • Thousands of links from legacy SEO activities like blog comments
  • If your anchor text is majorly focused around one of more phrases
  • If you’ve done any aggressive SEOs before 2012

If unsure, now is the right time to be on top of your client’s websites. They need to stay strong when Google releases the latest Penguin refresh this December 2015. Our White Label Link Cleanup packages help remove penalties using state of the art tools, combined with manual link removal to effectively recover rankings.
